How They Work: A small titanium screw is surgically placed into the upper or lower jawbone where a tooth is missing. Then the dentist will allow that implant to heal, essentially fusing with the bone, to give the implant stability. Finally, after the implant is determined to be stable, a restoration is fabricated. Depending on which teeth are missing and your personal dental needs, your implant restoration might be a dental crown, dental bridge, complete denture, or partial denture.
